Tom Hanks said he was asked by Jeff Bezos to take part in a Blue Origin Space Flight before William Shatner received his offer.

In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Hank confirmed the rumor of him being asked to go to space saying, “Well, yeah, provided I pay. And, you know, it cost 28 million bucks, or something like that. I’m doing good, Jimmy, I’m doing good. But I ain’t paying 28 [million] bucks!”

Hanks would then add, “You know what? We could simulate the experience of going to space right now. It’s about a 12-minute flight, is that about it? We could all do it in our seats right here. Just lean back like this and go [proceeds to shake and make grunting noises.] You do that for four minutes, and then you’re up and you’re floating. Take off your seatbelt and ‘Whoa! Whoa! This is fabulous! Man! What? Get back in [my seat]? Alright.’ And then another four minutes of [proceeds to shake and make grunting noises.]”
