Each week on the Jersey Magazine we pick topics of local interest to our listeners.
Jim Monaghan’s guests this morning include the very multi-talented Michael Johnathon, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Member Darryl McDaniels.
On December 10th and 11th, tornados touched down across five states including a 200-mile stretch through Kentucky, wiping out everything in their paths. The destruction was in the millions of dollars, wiping out businesses, schools, homes, and all their belongings including musical instruments. Originally from the Hudson Valley area of New York, singer/songwriter/author/producer (and just about any other title you want to add) Michael Johnathon now makes his home in Kentucky. He has launched a campaign asking for donations of musical instruments. As a regular Sunday morning listener to WDHA (via the live stream), Michael is reaching out to our listeners for their assistance. Details on how you can donate are here on his website. Donations in the form of instruments of all kinds or monetary are welcome.
Darryl McDaniels is best known by his stage name, DMC. As a founding member of Run DMC, Darryl helped shatter musical barriers incorporating the songs of Aerosmith and the Monkees into their music. They were ultimately inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. A native New Yorker, Darryl now makes his home here in New Jersey and in fact has been a guest at a couple of WDHA pet adoption events. He has just published a new book, Darryl’s Dream, which he wrote to help kids deal with finding courage, facing bullies and celebrating individuality.
This week on Rock N’ Ruff, we invite you to meet Ace from the Randolph Regional Animal Shelter!
COACH SHEETS’ RIDE IN – Jeremy Sheetinger is the head baseball coach at Georgia Gwinnett College where he led the Grizz Gang to the 2021 NAIA National Championship. His weekly “fire me up” tweet every Thursday may, on the surface, be geared toward his fellow baseball coaches, but his motivational message can easily be applied to the classroom, workplace, and your personal relationships. This week, Coach Sheets addresses the need for self-investment. Pour yourself into podcasts, books – anything that can help your self-development. Don’t feel as if you’ve ever hit your ceiling.

First Thursday of 2022 finds us:
Investing into ourselves!
Leaders/Players: we need to invest into our knowledge as much as we can! Think selfishly on this - itโs on YOU!
Best part - it shows on the people we lead!
