Jersey Magazine 1-30-22
Each week on the Jersey Magazine we pick topics of local interest to our listeners.
Jim Monaghan‘s guests this morning are Dr. Nicholas Tullo from RWJ Barnabas Health, and Robert Kessler, Senior Manager Donor Recruitment for Vitalant.
February is American Heart Health Month and Jim Monaghan’s first guest on this morning’s show is actually a former classmate at Fordham University. Dr. Nicholas Tullo is a Cardiac Electrophysiologist, specializing in the treatment of arrhythmias (heart rhythm disorders). He also is a regional expert in fainting or “syncope” and created the New Jersey Center for Fainting for patients with this condition.
Dr. Tullo is Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Rutgers University School of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He is the creator of several educational websites including Heart Rhythm Central, New Jersey Center for Fainting, and ECG Academy.
Dr. Tullo and Jim Monaghan discuss the path that took him from Radio Shack stores to wanting to know the inner workings of the heart, as well as some tips that WDHA listeners can take to get and keep their hearts healthy.
As we wrap up January and National Blood Donor Month, here is a replay from earlier this month, with Robert Kessler from Vitalant about the critical shortage of blood right now.
This week on Rock N’ Ruff, we invite you to meet Reese, a handsome Shepherd Hound mix who is 4 years old, in foster care and learning basic obedience, from Eleventh Hour Rescue in Randolph.
COACH SHEETS’ RIDE IN – Jeremy Sheetinger is the head baseball coach at Georgia Gwinnett College where he led the Grizz Gang to the 2021 NAIA National Championship. His weekly “fire me up” tweet every Thursday may, on the surface, be geared toward his fellow baseball coaches, but his motivational message can easily be applied to the classroom, workplace, and your personal relationships. This week, Coach Sheets addresses the need that personal reminder that everyone at some point is broken. By working on building a better person in ourselves, we can ultimately watch the better worker/player/coach come out!.

Friendly reminder to every single one of us:
We are all broken.
We need that personal reminder but especially for the people we lead!
Work on building a better person & watch the better worker/player/coach come out!
