It's hard to believe that Kenny Wayne Shepherd's sophomore release "Trouble Is" is celebrating it's 25th anniversary - but it is!
I first met Kenny when he was a kid, who showed up at WDHA, guitar in one hand, his debut Ledbetter Heights in the other with his dad, the legend- Ken Shepherd. They were fast and forever friends. Fast forward to the next record- Kenny's biggest hit - "Blue On Black"- and the story really begins.
Kenny not only discusses that journey, but also talks about his upcoming show at State Theater in New Brunswick on 5/20 his "Backroads Blues Festival" and helping to open the door for emerging female blues artists.
Kenny is a trailblazer, visionary and bridge builder in music and I am always honored to have an opportunity to catch up with one of my oldest and dearest friends!
Thanks Kenny! TC
