Jersey Magazine 5-15-22
Each week on the Jersey Magazine we pick topics of local interest to our listeners.
Dr. Bonnie J. Kaplan is a research psychologist and the co-author of The Better Brain: How to Overcome Anxiety, Combat Depression, and Reduce ADHD and Stress with Nutrition. With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, Jim Monaghan and Dr. Kaplan discuss how the foods we eat can contribute to less stress and anxiety and help our overall mental health.
China McCarney appeared on the very first Jersey Magazine program back in July 2021. As Vice President and CFO of Jaeger Sports, he is part of an organization that is dedicated to keeping throwing athletes healthy and on the field.
China is also the founder and CEO of Athletes Against Anxiety and Depression. May is Mental Health Awareness Month and China has teamed up with Atlanta Braves pitcher Tyler Matzek to raise money and awareness of mental health issues.
This week, Rock N’ Ruff has two dogs! Maddie and Ernie are two of the eleven poodle mixes that came from a hoarding situation to the incredible Denville Animal Shelter looking for a chance at a bright future.
COACH SHEETS’ RIDE IN – Jeremy Sheetinger is the head baseball coach at Georgia Gwinnett College where he led the Grizz Gang to the 2021 NAIA National Championship. His weekly “fire me up” tweet every Thursday may, on the surface, be geared toward his fellow baseball coaches, but his motivational message can easily be applied to the classroom, workplace, and your personal relationships. This week, Coach Sheets talks about how we can bring our our inner sense of confidence.

Confidence cannot be GIVEN… it can only be SHOWN.
And once it’s shown to us, the ball is in our court to believe & move forward with it!
Confidence isn’t a gift, wrapped up for us. It’s inside of us already!
