Jersey Magazine 7-3-22
Each week on the Jersey Magazine we pick topics of local interest to our listeners. With the July 4th weekend upon us, Jim Monaghan had two guests this morning to talk about the rich colonial history of two local towns – Morristown, and Madison.
Eric Olsen is a Park Ranger/Historian with the U.S. National Park Service here in Morris County with a wealth of knowledge about the colonial days of Morristown and the surrounding region. He and Jim talk about Washington’s headquarters, the winters at Jockey Hollow, Fort Nonsense and more.
Scott Spelker is a realtor by trade and a student of history when it comes to his hometown of Madison. His local trolley tours highlighting the heritage of The Rose City are a big favorite of residents who are often surprised to discover hidden nuggets about their town. Jim even learns who his street is named after!
This week, Rock N’ Ruff presents two pups from Jersey Girls Animal Rescue! Meet Fred and Ethel, a brother and sister bonded pair who have been together their entire lives. They are around 8 years old, boxer mixes and absolutely love ALL people.
COACH SHEETS’ RIDE IN – Jeremy Sheetinger is the head baseball coach at Georgia Gwinnett College where he led the Grizz Gang to the 2021 NAIA National Championship. His weekly “fire me up” tweet every Thursday may, on the surface, be geared toward his fellow baseball coaches, but his motivational message can easily be applied to the classroom, workplace, and your personal relationships. This week, Coach shares some important news of interest to sport coaches, speakers, leaders, and businesses.
