Jersey Magazine 7-24-22
Each week on the Jersey Magazine we pick topics of local interest to our listeners. This week, Jim Monaghan speaks with Nick Rolnick known as the Human Performance Mechanic, and Tom Baldino and John Fernandez from the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation.
Nick Rolnick grew up in Westchester County NY and played high school and collegiate baseball. After his playing career at ended, he turned to learning about how the human body performs, helping people to experience the joy of pain-free movement. He is also an expert in Blood Flow Restriction Training. You can learn more about Nick and his services at The Human Performance Mechanic website.
The Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation (JSJBF) is a non-profit 501.c.3 corporation. Their mission is to preserve, promote, and perpetuate jazz and blues in the northern New Jersey shore region. They hold a number of events throughout the year including their “Band Together For Veterans” show each spring. Tom Baldino is the president of the foundation and John Fernandez is on the board of trustees. They spoke with Jim Monaghan about the foundation and its many contributions to the community.
This week, Rock N’ Ruff presents Bunji from Jersey Girls Animal Rescue. Bunji is a sweet, fun, affectionate dog who is about 3 years old and we believe he is a Lab/Shar-Pei/Staffy mix that weighs about 65 pounds. He really just wants a home of his own. He is active and very energetic and would absolutely love someone who will play tug with him and let him run around in a yard of his own.
COACH SHEETS’ RIDE IN – Jeremy Sheetinger is the head baseball coach at Georgia Gwinnett College where he led the Grizz Gang to the 2021 NAIA National Championship. His weekly “fire me up” tweet every Thursday may, on the surface, be geared toward his fellow baseball coaches, but his motivational message can easily be applied to the classroom, workplace, and your personal relationships. This week, Coach talks where to look (and not look, as the case may be) for validation in our lives.

How true is this - Comparison is the absolute thief of joy!
But we still do it all the timeā¦ knowing that itās going to rob us of positive emotion!
Stop looking over the fence for validationā¦
