Jersey Magazine with Jim Monaghan

Each week on the Jersey Magazine we pick topics of local interest to our listeners. This week, Jim Monaghan talks with Ken Waer, president of Madison Little League, and Neal V. Hatch, the curator at the Museum at Bethel Woods.

Youth sports is always a hot topic, especially during this time of year when the Little League World Series is underway. Ken Waer is the president of Madison Little League here in Morris County. He and Jim Monaghan talk about the challenges of running the program, the current officiating crisis affecting all youth sports, and the role of parents.

We’re coming up on the 53rd anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Arts Fair held in Bethel NY August 15-18, 1969. Neal Hatch is the curator of the Museum at Bethel Woods, the site of the festival. Neal and Jim talk about the continuing legacy of one of the great cultural events of the 20th century.

This week, Rock N’ Ruff is happy to introduce you to Maddie from the Denville Animal Shelter. Maddie is about two years old and was rescued from a hoarding situation. She is super sweet, gentle and calm, and would love a calm household with a fenced in yard as she is learning to be a dog and walk on a leash. Maddie would love a canine buddy as well and with her calm, sweet demeanor- a patient, super friendly dog would be a great fit to show her the ropes!

COACH SHEETS’ RIDE INJeremy Sheetinger is the head baseball coach at Georgia Gwinnett College where he led the Grizz Gang to the 2021 NAIA National Championship. His weekly “fire me up” tweet every Thursday may, on the surface, be geared toward his fellow baseball coaches, but his motivational message can easily be applied to the classroom, workplace, and your personal relationships. This week, Coach talks about believing in the most important person in your life – YOU.
