Jersey Magazine 8-21-22
Each week on the Jersey Magazine we pick topics of local interest to our listeners. This week, Jim Monaghan talks with Dave Popkin, CEO of Hilltop Management, and he replays last week’s chat with Neal V. Hatch, the curator at the Museum at Bethel Woods.
Sports broadcaster, drummer, and did we mention that he’s the CEO of his own company? Dave Popkin is indeed a true renaissance man.
Dave and Jim Monaghan met when Dave invited him to be a part of the Newark Bears Baseball Club in 1999 for the team’s inaugural season in the Brick City.
Dave’s company Hilltop Management is a full-service consulting firm that specializes in the management and marketing of non-profits, academic institutions, and more. Hilltop is currently looking to hire event managers for the coming fall and winter.
We’ve just passed the 53rd anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Arts Fair held in Bethel NY August 15-18, 1969. Neal Hatch is the curator of the Museum at Bethel Woods, the site of the festival. Neal and Jim talk about the continuing legacy of one of the great cultural events of the 20th century.
This week, Rock N’ Ruff is happy to introduce you to Maddie from the Denville Animal Shelter. Maddie is about two years old and was rescued from a hoarding situation. She is super sweet, gentle and calm, and would love a calm household with a fenced in yard as she is learning to be a dog and walk on a leash. Maddie would love a canine buddy as well and with her calm, sweet demeanor- a patient, super friendly dog would be a great fit to show her the ropes!
COACH SHEETS’ RIDE IN – Jeremy Sheetinger is the head baseball coach at Georgia Gwinnett College where he led the Grizz Gang to the 2021 NAIA National Championship. His weekly “fire me up” tweet every Thursday may, on the surface, be geared toward his fellow baseball coaches, but his motivational message can easily be applied to the classroom, workplace, and your personal relationships. This week, Coach talks about how sometimes the biggest obstacle we face on a day-to-day basis is the person looking back at us in the mirror.
