Bruce Springsteen is Releasing a New Album Soon, Per Jann Wenner
Bruce Springsteen is releasing a new album in the very near future according to Rolling Stone founder Jann Wenner.
Wenner spilled the beans in a new interview with Billboard to promote his memoir appropriately titled Like a Rolling Stone. He was asked what he thought about pop and hip-hop being the dominant forces in music and gave an answer that revealed the new album from The Boss.
“There’s a lot of good stuff, and there’s a lot of trash and trivial stuff. Honestly, I don’t think it’s as good as [rock ’n’ roll]. I don’t think the singing is good, and I don’t think the arranging is good,” said Wenner of current pop and hip-hop music.

He continued, “Historically, it’s another turn in the cycle. Whether rock ‘n’ roll is going to come back — possibly not, because the sound is so different, and the circumstances are different. But I’m kind of stuck with the music I liked when I was young. Give me the Stones. There’s a new Bruce [Springsteen] record coming out this fall, which is stunning. I’m listening to that.”
So far, Springsteen hasn’t revealed any news about new music. Considering Wenner’s comments, that may change. Releasing new music wouldn’t be shocking considering Springsteen and the E Street Band will embark on a world tour in 2023. Currently, the tour will kick off February 1 in Tampa, Fla. The U.S. leg of the tour wraps on April 14 in Newark, N.J. The tour then heads overseas to kick off the European leg on April 28 in Barcelona, Spain.
Meanwhile, Springsteen took part in an event at the 92nd Street Y last night (September 13) with Wenner to discuss his new book, which is out now.
