In 1978 he published what many feel is THE authoritative look at the Beach Boys - The Beach Boys and the California Myth.
David has just revised and updated the book, now called God Only Knows - Brian Wilson, the Beach Boys, and the California Myth.
He called into WDHA to speak with Jim Monaghan about the new book, and some Beach Boys archive material that's coming soon.
