"This post is to let everyone know that it is with great sadness we have to announce Main Street (Ocean Twp) will be officially closing at the end of this year," the post began. "Thank you to all of those who have supported us throughout the years. Please stop in and see your favorite servers and bartenders. Everyone wants to say their goodbyes. We still have about 6 weeks so let’s make it [a] great ending. Thank you all again for the amazing support!"
The family-friendly bar was known for its burgers, sandwiches and cold brews.
According to Asbury Park Press, the restaurant was bought by the Seaview Auto Corp. which also operates along Route 35. The dealership plans to use the space for additional repair facilities.
The exact date of the closing has not been revealed.
The debate between New Jersey and New York on which state has the best pizza is a tale as old as time. Although New York is often named the winner --simply because they have yet to try New Jersey's--this one pizza spot in the Garden State will give even the proudest New York pizza lover second thoughts.
According to Mashed, New Jersey's best pizza place is Razza Pizza Artigianale located in Jersey City. Mashed discovered the joint by "listening to recommendations, reading reviews, researching awards, and doing some taste-testing."
The site describes Razza Pizza Artigianale as a restaurant that "aspires to create the best possible pizza, and many customers believe they're doing just that. While the menu tends to change depending on the season, the pepperoni pizza is a tried-and-true classic."
Some recent reviews from Google about Razza Pizza Artigianale included: "The best ever in my book. Excellent choices of food, in addition to the best pizza. Excellent service, great people, wonderful attitude. You just can't go wrong by selecting this place no matter what your occasion is." Another commenter added, "Razza never disappoints. I have tried every pizza on the menu. They all do justice. Would love to give it 10 stars [out of five] if I could!"
Razza's mission is to "serve the best pizza possible. We are challenging the common practices of pizza-making in the hope of influencing the industry and elevating the overall quality of pizza in America. Every day, our commitment is to provide the best product and the best process to give you the best food, and ultimately, the best pizza." The restaurant was founded by Dan Richer who was born and raised in Matawan, New Jersey. With over 20 years of experience in the restaurant business, he wrote down his expertise in the New York Times bestseller, The Joy of Pizza.
