Florida Man Michael Concepcion is now $10,000 richer - thanks to his snake-catching skills!

Concepcion took part in this year's annual Florida Python Challenge, competing against nearly 1000 people from 32 states, plus Canada and Latvia.

He ended up winning the top prize after capturing 28 of the slithery critters.

While the contest may sound more than a little bizarre, there's actually a good reason for it.

Burmese pythons are not native to Florida and as such, their presence in the Everglades ecosystem poses a serious problem to the birds, mammals, and reptiles that are part of the natural element.

The question now is, what the heck does Concepcion do with his new-found pet collection?
