Jersey Magazine 12-18-22
Each week on the Jersey Magazine we pick topics of local interest to our listeners. This week, Jim Monaghan replays his interview with local entertainer Chris D’Amico on the issue of mental health.
As fun and exciting as this time of year is with Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year’s Day all packed into a few weeks, it can also bring a lot of stress and anxiety.
Inspired by a recent post Chris put up on his Facebook page, he and Jim Monaghan discuss not only the challenges we all face year-round, but also how they can be magnified during the holiday season.
By the way, if you’re feeling overwhelmed, take note that the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a United States-based suicide prevention network of over 200+ crisis centers that provides 24/7 service via a toll-free hotline by dialing 9-8-8. It is available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress.
This week on Rock N’ Ruff, we welcome Phoenix from Eleventh Hour Rescue. Phoenix is a happy Labrador Retriever/Terrier mix who is about 9 years old. This handsome boy has been waiting for a long time for a second chance at finding his forever home. He was surrendered when his family was moving and could not take him. Phoenix is housebroken, crate-trained, and has basic obedience training. Phoenix is non-reactive around other dogs but an introduction is a must. We hope you will check him out.
COACH SHEETS’ RIDE IN – Jeremy Sheetinger is the head baseball coach at Georgia Gwinnett College where he led the Grizz Gang to the 2021 NAIA National Championship. His weekly “fire me up” tweet every Thursday may, on the surface, be geared toward his fellow baseball coaches, but his motivational message can easily be applied to the classroom, workplace, and your personal relationships. This week, Coach Sheets talks about the importance of offering forgiveness.
