The police are probably the last people you would expect to encourage you to drink.

Or at least drink to excess.

And they certainly don't want you behind the wheel of a motor vehicle should you overindulge.

Any yet the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office in Missouri recently put out a call for drinkers, asking them to come to the station for a few adult beverages.

The catch? Well, there really wasn't one. Turns out the cops were doing a test to help improve their deputies' field sobriety training.

And they served the good stuff too! (Although they did point out that it was on their own dime and not taxpayer funds.)

Participants were also offered a ride home. Free booze? And a courtesy ride? Sign us up!
