Tonight on the 80's at 8 the first track came from Scandal's 1982 self-titled EP. It reached #5 on the Billboard Mainstream Roch Chart and # 65 on The Billboard Hot 100.

"Goodbye To You" opens with a strong and memorable guitar riff setting the tone for the rest of the track. The lyrics are simple and direct and carry a powerful message of hope and resilience. The video shows Patty Smyth in a bright red dress singing the lyrics to various members of the band as they perform the song.

Though he is not shown in the video, the song features Max Crook from Del Shannon’s band and Paul Shaffer (who at the time was bandleader and sidekick on Late Night with David Letterman) playing a solo—based on Del Shannon's "Runaway" on an Oberheim OB-Xa.

The second track is by The Knack. It's from their second album from 1980 titled But the Little Girls Understand. "Baby Talks Dirty" was the first single released from the album and fell short of the success of its predecessors.

Lead Singer and Frontman Doug Fieger insisted that Bay Talks Dirty be the lead single from the album even though the rest of the band members did not like the lyrics. The lyrics lead to many radio stations not playing it.

The lyrics were ahead of their time that's for sure. The Knack's first single, "My Sharona" reached #1 in the U.S., and its follow-up from their debut album Get the Knack, "Good Girls Don't" reached #11, "Baby Talks Dirty" only reached #30 in Cash Box and #38 on the Billboard Hot 100, spending just 2 weeks in the Top 40. It did better in Canada, where it reached #13.

Another factor in the song's, and its album's, relative lack of chart success was its timing, being released a mere eight months after "My Sharona" and Get The Knack.[6] This made the similarity between "My Sharona" and "Baby Talks Dirty" more jarring.

I like this track even if does sound like My Sharona, maybe that's why I like it!
