Florida Man Goes To Real Extremes For His Chicken Wings
DATELINE – Naples FL
Florida Man Matthew Davis must like chicken wings.
And he must be on a really tight schedule.
How else to explain why he went so far as to pull a gun when the wings he ordered online weren’t ready when they were supposed to be?
According to an arrest affidavit, Davis placed an online order for chicken wings at 8:39 PM. The store promised that his order would be ready at 8:58 PM, but when he arrived at 9:40 PM the food still wasn’t ready.
According to reports, Davis was angry and began pacing in the waiting area. Even the offer of a free soda while he waited wasn’t enough to satisfy him while his food was being prepared.
According to the affidavit, Davis reportedly told employees that he was “going to get my strap (gun).”
“They going to see that I’m not playing,” Davis allegedly said.
That was when Davis left the restaurant and retrieved a gun from his white van.
“I can’t even imagine, you know, that somebody, because their order took too long or they didn’t like how it came out? “ one eyewitness told a local news outlet.. “It’s like OK, then you don’t go there again, but to pull a gun on somebody over something as silly as that as an order not being to their satisfaction. “I mean, that’s getting kind of nuts.”
After a preliminary investigation, Davis met with sheriff’s detectives on Wednesday. According to the arrest affidavit, Davis told detectives that his outburst occurred several weeks after his mother’s death and that he was “stressed out.” He added that the gun was not loaded and that he merely intended to “intimidate” the restaurant employees.
And after all that, we’re not even sure if Davis ever even got his wings.
