Florida Man Channels His Inner Ozzy
DATELINE – Cutler Bay FL
Ozzy Osbourne has led a VERY interesting life.
As Rolling Stone writer Andy Greene wrote in January 2022, “When Ozzy Osbourne dies, hopefully several decades from now, his obituary will touch on a great many things. It’ll focus on the pivotal role he played in the creation of heavy metal as a member of Black Sabbath, the brilliant music he made with guitarist Randy Rhoads in the early Eighties, his battles with substance abuse, and how his MTV show The Osbournes helped launch a new era of reality television.
“Inevitably, it will also mention a Jan. 20, 1982, incident at the Des Moines Veterans Memorial Auditorium where he bit the head off a live bat during a concert.”
Florida Man Kevin Mayorga may find himself in a similar situation when his obituary is written. They can just substitute “pet python snake” for the bat.
According to Miami-Dade police, officers were sent to the Saga Bay apartment complex on Monday to check out reports of a couple arguing. When they arrived they could hear the fight between a man and woman going on inside one of the units.
The officers tried knocking on the door a number of times and asked to be let in but they could hear the argument as it continued behind the closed door. Finally, the woman inside yelled, “KICK IT IN!”
It took police awhile to sort through everything and calm both people down with Mayorga ultimately being taken to the ground and placed in leg restraints.
It was at that point, the woman told the officers that he had bitten off the head of her pet ball python. The dead snake was found next to the door with its head detached.
Mayorga was taken into custody and charged with resisting an officer with violence, false imprisonment, and animal cruelty.
