Florida Man Channels His Inner Wright Brother
DATELINE – Volusia County FL
Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird…it’s a plane…it’s Florida Man!
Except that Florida Man wasn’t in the sky for very long.
Long before Orville and Wilbur Wright made their first controlled, sustained flight of a powered, heavier-than-air aircraft with the Wright Flyer in December 1903, we have had a fascination with flying. After all, if a bird can do it, why not man?
For that matter, why not Florida Man?
Specifically Vincent Grasso who built his own airplane and took it for a spin.
The plane crashed shortly after takeoff and thankfully Grasso is in stable condition in a Florida hospital, but there are SO many questions.
- What kind of plane are we talking about?
- How did he get it onto the runway?
- Did air traffic control know he was doing this?
We can probably file this one under “DO NOT TRY THIS ON YOUR OWN.”
