Now, some parts of New Jersey are looking to get about eight inches of snow Monday evening into Tuesday morning. This will be the state’s first snowstorm of the winter.
According to the National Weather Service, snow should begin falling sometime between 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the northern part of the state. I-78 could have a coating of up to 2 inches.
"Areas along the Interstate 78 corridor will have a period of snow/sleet," the weather service said in its Monday morning forecast discussion per NJ Advance Media. "It is north of I-78 including especially the I-80 corridor that is expected to pick up a more significant accumulating snowfall."
According to the weather site, little to no snow is expected in South Jersey. As for Central Jersey, there could be some mixed precipitation Monday evening leading into Tuesday.
As for temperature, highs will begin climbing into the 40s on Monday. Temperature is set to drop the to mid-30s to low-40s on Tuesday.
All precipitation will start late tonight with snow or wintry weather-like conditions. The snowy weather is set to leave northeastern New Jersey by early Tuesday afternoon.
