Rock Candy

Nikki Sixx appears to be having fun at the expense of guitarist John 5 and/or, perhaps, the media in general.

Sixx tweeted yesterday (February 27), “Known @john5guitarist for a really long time. Great friends and of course he’s a bad ass guitar player but it’s kinda concerning to me the weird stuff he packs in his backpack on tour. Don’t ever ask him, I’d really hate him to be embarrassed.” Sixx’s tweet received a response from Motley Crue’s Twitter account of two “Rolling on the Floor Laughing” emojis.

Today (February 28), John 5 responded to Sixx’s tweet via Instagram. He shared a screenshot of an article from titled “Nikki Sixx Refrains From Embarrassing John 5 By Revealing Some ‘Weird Stuff’.” The guitarist captioned the post with three “Rolling on the Floor Laughing” emojis and a devil horns emoji.

So, what does it all mean? Is this just one big inside joke? Is this Motley’s way of making fun of the rock press? Maybe it’s yes to both. All this writer knows for certain is that this random bulls— often does interest readers. Considering she has a mortgage, a daughter and an adorable new rescue puppy, she’ll do damn near anything in order to keep her writing job. We all do what we gotta do, amiright?
