The 80’s at 8 celebrate the 39th anniversary of Ratt’s Out Of The Cellar Album Rockturnal with Scotty B
Ratt’s “Out of the Cellar” turned 39 today! I can not believe it has been that long. I am a diehard Ratt fan always have been since Out of the Cellar came out. The first time I heard Round and Round on the radio that was it I was hooked. Then I saw the music video for Round and Round and I was like, that is the coolest band I have ever seen. I thought Stephen Pearcy was the baldest ass front man ever!!Out Of The Cellar is definitely one of their best albums. It is loaded and I mean loaded with great tracks. It’s a classic album that stands the test of time. Its infectious hooks and memorable guitar riffs continue to captivate listeners today, and its impact on the world of music cannot be understated. If you’re a fan of Ratt ,hard rock or glam metal, this album is an essential addition to your collection. Out Of The Cellar was released March 27,1984. Out Of The Cellar is certified triple platinum and it reached #7 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The first single released from the album was Round and Round , it reached #4 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart and #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was in heavy rotation on MTV and other Music Video shows. The album also contains other popular tracks like, Wanted Man , Lack Of Communication and a re-recorded version of “Back for More.” Back For More originally appeared on their self titled EP. Other stand out tracks are Scene Of The Crime, I’m Insane, In Your Direction , and the track I played in the 80’s at 8 tonight, You’re In Trouble. The Late Tawny Kitaen is the model that graces the album cover. She also appears in the Back for More music video. She was dating Ratt guitarist Robin Crosby at the time. If you have only heard Round and round from this album , I highly suggest you listen to the whole album. You will thank me for it. Happy Anniversary/ Birthday to Ratt’s debut album Out Of The Cellar. Ratt n Roll forever!
