The second track in tonight’s 80’s at 8 was I Want A Woman by Ratt. It was the second release from their 1988 Platinum album Reach For The Sky. “I Want a Woman” is a classic example of Ratt’s high-energy style, with Crosby and DeMartini’s driving guitar riffs, Bobby Blotzer’s heavy and powerful drum beats and Stephen Pearcy’s gritty voice delivering the lyrics with raw intensity. The song’s infectious chorus and catchy hooks make it a standout track on “Reach for the Sky” and a fan favorite. I Want A Woman showcases the band’s signature sound, blending heavy metal with elements of glam rock and punk. Ratt’s tour to promote the album Reach For The Sky was cut short due to its poor performance. I will admit it is definitely not one of their best albums and I am a huge Ratt fan. The best songs on the album in my opinion are Way Cool JR, I want A Woman, Don’t Bite the Hand That Feeds You, and City to City. That’s It! That was not like Ratt, their previous albums just about every song was AWESOME!! I remember when I bout the album. I rushed home put it on the turn table and was shocked at how different it was from the other albums. I was disappointed. Well at least there were 5 good tracks on the album. Parts of the Music video for I want A Woman was shot at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan. You can watch the music vide below:
