#3. Black Sabbath – Sweet Leaf Requested through – Email Request Line – scottyb@wdhafm.com Requested by – Commander Kyle M in Hillsborough, NJ
Cammander Kyle M comes in at #3 with his 4-20 themed request of Sweet Leafe by Black Sabbath.”Sweet Leaf” is a classic heavy metal track from Black Sabbaths Masters of Reality album. The opening riff is instantly recognizable, with Tony Iommi’s guitar work setting the tone for the entire song. The song’s heavy and bluesy feel is complemented by Ozzy Osbourne’s unique vocal style, which is raw and emotional. One of the most notable aspects of “Sweet Leaf” is its use of a coughing sound effect at the beginning of the song. The coughing sound was actually made by Tony Iommi, who was smoking a joint in the studio during the recording session. The coughing sound effect has become an iconic part of the song and is often used as a nod to the band’s connection to marijuana culture. Great job Commander Kyle M! Salute!

#2. Sublime – Smoke Two Joints Requested through – Facebook Request Line – Scotty B wdha Requested by LT. Major Bernadette A Rockturnaling and working in Cranbury , NJ
Ok … a lot going with this request. she is giving me some choices. Afroman is not in our format but Sublime is baby!! LT Major Bernadette A comes in at #2 with Smoke two Joints by Sublime. Smoke Two Joints” is a classic reggae-rock song by the American band Sublime. The song was originally recorded by the reggae artist The Toyes in 1983, but Sublime’s version has become the most well-known and beloved version of the song. The song’s opening guitar riff is instantly recognizable, with Brad Nowell’s guitar work setting the tone for the entire song. The song’s reggae-infused beat and ska-influenced horn section complement the lyrics perfectly, creating a laid-back and carefree atmosphere. One of the most notable aspects of “Smoke Two Joints” is its use of samples from a comedy album by Cheech and Chong. The samples are used throughout the song, adding a comedic and playful element to the song. Great Job LT. Maj. Bernadette A! Enjoy your candy! Salute!
