First Date Judgement
I’ve been with my wife for a while. Not just married, but we dated for years before I popped the question. Needless to say, I’m so far removed from the dating game I don’t think I’d know what to do on a first date.
For those of you out there looking to find love or even get a second date with a possible partner there was an interesting survey that recently came out – It seems people don’t need much time to know whether they’ll want a second date. This recent survey shows that the average American needs only 19 minutes on a first date to tell if they would be interested in seeing the other person again. Just 19 minutes!!!
What are some of the most important things people look for in their dates?
- 51% said whether or not their date has manners
- 48% said personality was really important
- 47% were into conversational skills
- 44% were all about physical appearance
And here’s some tips – If you’re going to start a conversation, steer clear of old relationships and religion. Those weren’t thought of very fondly.
And if you’re hoping for a second date follow some of these rules:
- Don’t be too clingy
- Make sure to have good hygiene
- Work on your sense of humor
- Don’t be too negative
- Don’t be overly obsessed with your pet
There are a lot of roadblocks in getting that second date, but it’s possible. Just be positive, upbeat, courteous and show that you take care of yourself. That’s a step in the right direction!
