Weird News – If Anyone Ever Needed To Use Auto Tune, It’s Fuzzy
Before we get to this week’s episode of Weird News, let’s take a little trip down Memory Lane.
Back in the early days of rock and roll, a number of teen idols who were in television and movies capitalized on their popularity by recording songs.
Those teen idols often weren’t the greatest singers in the world so many of them relied on double-tracking their vocals to make their voices seem fuller and/or stronger.
Even bands with great singers used double-tracked vocals and got great results – the Beatles, who had two legendary rock & roll singers in John Lennon and Paul McCartney, often doubled the lead vocal in their songs.
People rarely complain about artists who double their vocals.
But they very often complain about the use of auto-tune which is a way of electronically assisting a singer’s pitch. Bad singers who can’t carry a tune in a bucket are now able to sing on pitch, albeit with the aid of a digital device.
We mention this because we feel it necessary to warn you that the one and (thankfully) only Executive Producer Michael Fuzzy Lee “sings” (we use that term VERY loosely) on this week’s episode of Weird News.
Fuzzy might want to consider –
- Never singing again
- Using autotune if he should decide to charm us with his dulcet tones
Imagine what a duet with Cher (her use of auto-tune on “Believe” was a tad over-the-top) and Fuzzy would sound like.
