Florida Man really knows how to light up a room. And get a big bang out of it, too.
Literally.
Florida Man Jason Smith must have had issues with someone living in a Deltona residence because he (allegedly of course) tossed a glass Don Julio bottle with a lit accelerant into the window of a home.
Smith was pretty easy to track down because witnesses were able to identify a silver Mercedes registered to him that was observed leaving the fiery scene.
First, Smith told cops that someone had borrowed his car; then he said he was at work at the time of the incident.
One minor problem with that last excuse - when police call Smith's supposed place of employment, there was no record of him working there.
And it probably doesn't help Smith's case that his cellphone data puts him in the vicinity of the area at the time of the incident.
If you should happen to need to locate Smith, you'll find him in the Volusia County Jail on charges of possession of a firebomb and first-degree arson on $200,000 bond.
