What’s A Nice Florida Girl Like You Doing In A Place Like This
DATELINE – the Florida real estate market
Housing prices can be pretty crazy these days so when you see what looks like a good deal, you might be tempted to jump at the opportunity.
Take Florida Woman Mallory (after you hear the story, you might understand why she didn’t reveal her last name) who recently purchased a 100-year old house at a Florida Auction as a do-it-yourself project for the VERY low price of $59,000.
A steal? Perhaps. But based upon some VERY unusual characteristics to this house, Mallory has a lot of D-I-Ying in her future.
For one, there’s outdoor siding INSIDE on the second floor.
Some of the interior doors have front-door-style knockers on them leading to the question of what exactly was going on behind those doors.
And then there’s the odd wallpaper in the dining room with images of mushrooms on it. For the record, Mallory says the wallpaper is staying.
But the creepiest part of the house is the basement which, as you’ll see in the video below, appears to contain a jail cell.
It seems that house once belong to a Florida state patrolman who would keep prisoners locked up there overnight when the town jail was closed.
Sounds like Barney Fife turns Florida Man.
Sounds like a house we want NO part of living in.
