Junk removal can be a daunting task. You have all this unwanted stuff you've accumulated over the years and when it's got to go, it's got to go.
For Florida Man, that means dropping a massive dump on the side of the road and leaving it up to someone else to clean up.
FLORIDA MAN STRIKES AGAIN!
DATELINE - the Florida Keys and the Saga of Florida Man, 65-year old Benjamin Scott Holroyd.
You have a lot of junk around your house. Maybe it's in the attic. Maybe it's in the basement. Maybe it's in a shed or your garage. Maybe it's on a back deck. Maybe it's in a spare bedroom.
Wherever it is, you know you've got to get rid of it.
Well, that's what happened with this guy Holroyd. He had five tons of unwanted junk.
Now, I don't know where he was keeping five tons of this stuff, but he decided he'd had enough and he needed to get rid of it. So he loaded it onto a truck.
How long does it take to load five tons of unwanted junk in a truck? Either way, he did it. He decided, well, this is as good as any place to dump it.
He left it on the side of the road in the Florida Keys.
Well, the police noticed the giant heap. It was kind of hard to overlook. After all, we're talking five tons of junk.
They went and investigated what was there, and they found sufficient evidence to trace it all back to Holroyd, who admitted to the police that he was indeed the one who had dropped the massive dump.
I don't know why he thought that was a good place to do it. Who knows?
Holroyd was arrested, charged with felony illegal dumping. A waste removal crew coming in to do the cleanup picked up more than 10,000 pounds of trash.
What they did with it, I have no idea.
