A great live show can pump you up.  You sing along to the music or air drum/guitar.  You feed off the energy of the crowd around you.  And sure, maybe you indulge with an adult beverage.  It’s exciting to watch your favorite performers on stage, since you never know what to expect or how they’re going to sound.  Well, last night Pantera stopped at Madison Square Garden in NYC and I have to tell you, they brought it.  Here’s how Pantera Tore The Roof off of Madison Square Garden.

Let me start by saying this.  When I first heard about the Pantera “reunion” or tribute, I was a little frustrated.  I said, without Vinnie and Dime, it’s just not Pantera and it’s just not right.  I quickly changed my tune after seeing how much these shows are more about honoring the Abbot brothers, even more than just the music or some reunion with Phil and Rex.  And that’s pretty damn cool.

Lamb of God was the opener last night and they always bring the fierce riffs and hardcore, metal breakdowns.  They’re a lot of fun to watch and have so much energy.  They made me a little tired last night from all the screaming and headbanging I was doing lol!

When Pantera took the stage, the crowd was going crazy.  The video screens in the Garden showed a long segment of footage of the band from back in the day, of course with many pics and films of Vinnie and Dimebag.  It was pretty emotional.

As soon as a barefooted Phil Anselmo started singing, the crowd was right there with him.  Zakk and Charlie on guitar and drums respectively sounded unbelievable plating the parts perfectly and also adding a little of their own flair.  But not too much, they kept true to the music left behind.  Strength Beyond Strength, 5 Minutes Alone, A New Level, Suicide Note Part 2.  It was great to hear these absolute metal masterpieces.

And call me sappy, but one thing I loved, was watching Phil talk about what this all means to him and seeing him get visibly emotional.  It was touching and made me appreciate the experience on a whole other level.

Shockingly, Pantera never headlined the Garden at the height of their fame.  But last night, I’m sure Dime and Vinnie were looking down as proud as ever, knowing their music filled up that arena like no other band could!

5 Mouth-Watering Mexican Restaurants In Morris County

I’m a lover of food. All different types of cuisines. Snacks, full meals, desserts. It’s all good in my book. One thing I love? Mexican cuisine. I love an overstuffed burrito or a plate of fajitas just as much as I love a pasta dish from a nice Italian restaurant. So, I wanted to take a look at 5 mouth-watering Mexican Restaurants in Morris County.

What makes Mexican Food so great? Well, that’s subjective. But I really feel like it has something to do with the number of choices a restaurant usually has. Just like when you go out for Italian, there are all sorts of meals and side dishes to enjoy. In fact, it’s somewhat overwhelming picking what you want to eat when you go for Mexican. But I would say overwhelming in a good way. LOL!

I grew up eating fast food style Mexican which I still enjoy. However, it’s really an Americanized version of a traditional Hispanic dish. There’s nothing wrong with that, but, an authentic Mexican restaurant takes things to a whole other level. It tastes made to order and has more traditional seasonings and spices.

I’ll admit when going to write this, I should point out that there aren’t many times I’ve been disappointed with a fun Mexican dish in the nearby area. But again, I like food. And I’m very easy to please. Maybe too easy LOL!

So, what’s your favorite dish? A taco, flauta, chimichanga, burrito? Again, there are so many options, and they are all pretty tasty. I feel like you can’t go wrong nobody what your go-to dish is. Oh, and whatever it is, don’t forget the side of beans and rice. I love that! It just adds so much flavor to an already awesome entrée.

The Birria Pizza is crazy good - A tortilla made into a Mexican style pizza.  So delicious!

LOS CARNALES (formerly Maddy's Mexican Restaurant) - Lake Hiawatha
