Morristown Police Award Resident $62 in Gas For Arrest Tip
Morristown Community Challenges are still going strong, as the Morristown Police Department just gifted 87 Octane to another local tipster.
For their fifth community information challenge, Morristown Police made a rallying call for information that would lead to the arrest of Kevin Fradette. The prize is precisely $62.39 on a gas card AND a junior officer badge.
Though the extent of Fradette’s potential crimes is unknown, Morristown police said he had the top spot on the wanted warrant list before his arrest.
According to Morristown Police, Fradette was located in Hardwick Village. Upon police arrival, the department said Fradette “exercised poor judgment”, and tried to flee.
The pursuit happened around Dewey, Spring, Dale, Elm, and Wolcott Streets. Police say Fradette did not go far before compliantly giving up. At his request, Fradette offered an apology to the community, family, and friends for any disruption he may have caused in the chase. He was taken into St. Johnsbury Correctional Facility on a DOC Arrest warrant.

Mr. Fradette was provided with community service contacts, and Morristown Police will follow up with the Department of Corrections on his behalf. The department says Fradette wishes he turned himself in sooner so he would have received his sticker.
The department said they received a large amount of tips, but the first credible tip was the lucky recipient of the gas card and junior officer sticker. Police left it up to the tipster to either pick up their prize or have it delivered discreetly.
More On Morristown Police Challenges
This was the fifth in a series of community-driven information challenges, promoting transparency between the department and residents. Recently, the department had given three steamed lobsters as an award for information leading to arrest. Before that, the prize was nine shamrock shakes.
For the next community challenge, the department is teasing buttered popcorn and the big screen.
