I’ve had a great week introducing my son to the world of metal.  Well, he already heard some of Master of Puppets, so maybe introducing isn’t the right word.  LOL!  Anyway, I love showing him some classic metal songs and today I have one more for him. This is Jersey Kid Reacts to classic metal, Motley Crue.

Kid Reacts to Hair Metal

I wanted to do a hair metal band.  Or just an 80s band known for some really rockin’ tunes.  So, I landed on Motley.  They have some awesome tunes.  Sure, they have slower ballads and fun, upbeat sing-along songs.  But at the heart of it, they’re metal.

And it sounds so good.  I decided to play my son “Kickstart My Heart” since it’s fast and gets the adrenaline going.

From that opening guitar lick, I could tell my son was hooked.  When the whole band kicked in he had a big smile on his face.  He was already moving a bit, and seeing him excited was nice.  Then the vocals entered and he said “This guy sounds pretty good.”

So he wasn’t scared, but it wasn’t his favorite.  It was just enough for his liking. At the chorus is where it got really good.

At the end of the first chorus, he asked if we could put that part on again. I told him that in songs it comes back around, so we just have to wait a minute and they’ll sing it again.  He was thrilled!

Oh, I should also mention that in the breakdown Vince sings “kicking ass” and my son did not let that go.  Saying “Oohhh he cursed.”   Two times!!  He was into it.

Looks like my son is a big fan of 80’s hair metal because by the end, once again he was dancing around and asking me to put it on again.

It is a really awesome song.  Take a listen for yourself and see the awesomeness

5 Amazing Videos Of Kids Playing Rock Music

There’s so much great content on YouTube. There are silly videos. Instructional courses. And of course, kids doing cool things. Like playing rock tunes! If you’ve seen the O'Keefe’s Music Foundation channel, you know that over the years they’ve uploaded some really inspiring content. They just did it again with their most recent video. Let’s take a look at 5 Amazing videos of kids playing rock music!

But before we dive in, you might be asking, what is this foundation? They explain it like this on their website- The O’Keefe Music Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) music organization that offers FREE music lessons, FREE music camps, FREE recording sessions, and FREE music videos to young musicians from around the world! With your help, all children, regardless of economic circumstance, gain access to high-quality music education, top-of-the-line instruments, professional recording equipment, and the ability to follow their dreams!

It's a very cool concept and an important one as kids learning music can be such a game-changer for their lives. It can give them confidence and self-esteem. It provides an outlet for fun. And also has them doing something safe and productive. This place is based out of Ohio and I have to say I was blown away when I saw an old video they did years ago. Then today, I was reminded of them since their recent post popped up on my socials and I was like man, more people need to watch these kids. It’s very impressive.

My son always says he wants to learn drums like me but doesn’t push it. And when my wife and I discuss lessons he starts to become wishy-washy, so we don’t want to push it. We figure, if he really wants to learn an instrument one day, he’ll make it known. As for the kids in these videos, they’re doing it and knocking it out of the park!

Let’s take a look at 5 Amazing videos of Kids playing rock music!

COWBOYS FROM HELL

Maybe the kid singing doesn't sound like Phil Anselmo, but tell me this isn't fun to watch! It's a great job.

WISH - NINE INCH NAILS

Trent Reznor would be proud.  This was the first album (ep) I bought from NIN.  And they do such a great rendition of the hit song.

BULLS ON PARADE - RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE

Tight, rockin, and some good rap skills.  It's even censored!

SOBER - TOOL

Their Tool cover is on point!  I like that it's a different interpretation and has it's own vie.  Really cool!

NUMBER OF THE BEAST - IRON MAIDEN

Bruce Dickinson look out lol!  These kids are talented.  Fun watch and great sound!
