A Walmart Shopping Trip Turns Into Shoplifting Arrest

Who doesn't love a nice shopping trip to Walmart?

You can find some great bargains, and in many cases, the selection can't be beat.

For Florida Woman, however, that turned into a shoplifting trip that ended up with an arrest an a very bizarre attempt to explain what happened.

Florida man strikes again!

DATELINE - Palm Coast and in this case it is Florida Woman.

Her name is Amber McCann. She was caught shoplifting from Walmart and had a variety of stories as to why she was doing what she was doing.

It was a rather confusing discussion with the police. She said initially that she was playing a really fun game called "21" where someone grabs as much merchandise from a store as they can, walks out without paying and then tries not to get caught.

It appears that she failed on that part.

She originally said that she dumped the items in a random car. She told police when she was in the parking lot she didn't know what car it was.

Maybe it was silver, maybe it was gray. She didn't know the make. It was just a random car.

When they asked her for ID, she said, oh, I left that in the car too.

When asked which car again didn't remember the color, didn't remember the maker model.

Then she changed the story a bit and said that it was a rental car that her boyfriend had gotten. But he didn't know that she was stealing stuff because he's too old to play the game "21."

Amber, by the way, is 30. I'm not sure how old too old is.

The Walmart Shoplifting Haul

Well, the police were eventually able to figure out which car it was. And the backseat of the car, you'd think she'd been Christmas shopping in April. More than a thousand dollars worth of stolen goods were found in the backseat.

Oh, but wait, there's more.

There were drugs including marijuana and meth and drug paraphernalia.

Those probably weren't from Walmart.

And when the cops opened up the trunk, they found something else that probably wasn't from Walmart either.

And that was a safe. It was locked. And when they opened it up, they found bars of silver, copper and platinum.

Well, not only did Amber fail at the game "21," she's been charged with grand theft, possession of marijuana, hashish, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking of meth.

But she did get a brand new free set of designer bracelets, also known as handcuffs from the Flagler County Police Department.

Today is April Fool’s Day. I’ve never been a fan, despite the fact that I love to laugh. Pranks that people play today are usually either hurtful or just dumb and unfunny. I did think about playing a bunch of rap music when I came on air this afternoon, but again, that’s not really funny, and so, I’ll leave the humor to the comedians. But let’s not forget – there’s also funny rock videos too! This could be through a story that takes place throughout the songs, or just on-camera antics that cut in and out through the music video.

Either way, there’s been some good ones throughout the years. Rock hasn’t always been known for that. In fact, especially early on in the 80’s on MTV, you were almost sure to find a cool rock tune with a video of a good-looking female model caressing herself and dancing around half naked to the song. It really had nothing to do with the music, but as they say….sex, drugs, and rock and roll.

As things have progressed, bands have become really interesting in their approach to videos. There are some comical ones. I even like ones that are just plain fun. For a good example on what I mean by that, look no further than the always intriguing OK GO music videos.

This one is filled with YouTube memes. Those funny moments we all love from some classic footage. Plus it's a great Weezer song.

Blink likes to have fun. There's no disputing that. And this video is them running around naked, causing a ruckus.

A classic. Twisted Sister knew how to have a good time. This rockin' video is funny to this day.

Bed Bath & Beyond Files For Bankruptcy, 12 N.J. Stores Affected

Bed Bath & Beyond has filed for bankruptcy following years of dismal sales and losses and numerous failed turnaround plans, per NorthJersey.com.

As of right now, the company's 360 Bed Bath & Beyond stores and its 120 Buy Buy Baby brick-and-mortar as well as its websites will remain open while the company files for bankruptcy. The retailer said it anticipates closing all of its stores by June 30.

The Union, N.J. based company said it voluntarily made the filing "to implement an orderly wind down of its businesses while conducting a limited marketing process to solicit interest in one or more sales of some or all of its assets."

According to the court filing, this also leaves 14,000 workers' jobs at risk. Back in February, the company had 32,000 workers, the court filing stated.

The company was founded in 1971 and became famous for having affordable household appliances and was notorious for their 20% off coupons.
