Awesome Father’s Day Rock Songs – Kansas- Carry On My Wayward Son
We celebrate Dad soon. Father’s Day is coming and I wanted to take a look at awesome Father’s Day Rock Songs-Kansas-Carry On My Wayward Son.
Before I get into the song, just a reminder – show Dad some love this Father’s Day. He doesn’t expect much. Just call him for a few minutes and thank him for what he’s done.
That said, Kansas wrote an amazing song with this one. What’s cool is that it can be interpreted in many different ways. And that makes for a unique song because it can mean so much to all different types of people who interpret it their way!
When I hear these lyrics, I think of a Father singing to his child, telling them that although things have been rough, as long as you persevere, everything will be ok in the end. “There’ll be peace when you are done.” It’s a beautiful sentiment and truly something a son would love to hear their father say.
What’s cool about this interpretation is that it’s true for most Dads or parents. We don’t want to see our children in pain or suffering or struggling. We just want them to know that although things might not always be easy and you will struggle, just do your best and things are going to be alright. Wanting the best for our kids is the most important thing for a parent. We wish them health and happiness, and peace.
It also doesn’t hurt that this tune just plain rocks. That guitar breakdown is sick and it’s got amazing harmonies throughout which are beautifully and tastefully layered! It’s not that long, just over 5 minutes, but I always kind of considered it an epic, powerful track with many different parts. And now for Father’s Day, it’s one that a Dad could listen to. Or you can listen to with Dad!
