Curtis Kay- We Miss You (Photo Gallery)
Curtis Kay- We Miss You- A phrase I say almost every day. In fact, we all do at WDHA.
It's been four years since we lost our legend. The icon, friend, and our brother Curtis Kay.
June 8th 2020- A phone call and day on the air I will never forget.
Curt fought a brave, valiant battle with cancer for many years and his love for WDHA and all things rock, listeners, and station family never changed. It got stronger. He was here every day, rocking with you- his radio family. When he felt well when he did not.
Curtis started his career at WRNW in New York and spent most of his career at WDHA- His radio home.
We Are Reminded of Curtis Kay
There are so many songs that remind us of Curt! "Thunderstruck" from AC/DC was one that Curt always blasted at full volume, (in fact he blew our speakers out a few times!) Curt loved John Mellencamp, Dave Edmunds, George Thorogood (his last live interview btw), and Halestorm and Joan Jett. Curt was always a supporter of women in music. He helped get so many New Jerseyans home from work every single day! And blew the whistle at 5p for everyone.
It is always appreciated when listeners call us or email us with a Curtis story, request, or something that reminds them of him.
We truly can't believe he's gone. It's especially hard to believe it's four years later, however, we have his presence here with us at our WDHA studio every day. Curt's photos are still up, he's still on our website, and our studio is named after him above the door. Please enjoy our photo gallery of Curtis' memories and if you have a photo you would like to share with us, please email- TC@WDHAFM.COM.
"Thank You Much For The Use Of The Ear".
No Curt we Thank You.
