Rickey Medlocke Of Lynyrd Skynyrd On The Bands Legacy, New Music and His Blackfoot Days
Lynyrd Skynyrd! America’s Band! And Guitarist Rickey Medlocke is always a fantastic guest.
Rickey And WDHA
It’s been awhile since I’ve spoken to Rickey, but seeing him again was like reconnecting with a cousin from out of town. Rickey spent a good deal of his days in New Jersey when he was in the band BLACKFOOT, and was a big part of the 80’s and 1990’s at WDHA. In fact, Rickey did some morning show fill-in in the early 90’s and played shows for us at the Morristown Arboretum, Sun Tan Lake and The Tradewinds in Sea Bright, just to name a few. Rickey also came into our studio quite a bit for interviews and performances. Rickey is such a charismatic character.
Then in 1996 Rickey Medlocke re-joined Lynyrd Skynyrd. And the rest is history.
Joining Skynyrd in 1991, The Fan Legacy, Being Excluded From The Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame, New Music And More
Are all things discussed in my interview with Rickey. We also talk about the new breed of Southern Rockers taking over as Rickey joined me LIVE from the Lynyrd Skynyrd Tour Bus. Rickey opens up about so much with me – Lynyrd Skynyrd hits the road with ZZ Top as part of the “SHARP DRESSED SIMPLE MAN” Tour– and gives us the bands plans for 2025 and tells me what he really thought of the band’s 2018 Showtime Documentary- “If I Leave Here Tomorrow”
