Ingesting laundry pods and smoking strange stuff make up the headlines in this week's edition of Weird News on the WDHA Morning Jolt.
ANNOUNCER - Time now for WDHA's Weird News with Michael Fuzzy Lee.
Laundry Pods
FUZZY - Today in Weird News, three people in Taiwan were hospitalized after eating laundry pods.
They received them in the mail as part of a bizarre election giveaway from a candidate running for office in the country with instructions on how to use the pods properly.
One of the sickened constituents said they thought the pods were candy and ate them. A campaign spokesperson did come forward and reconfirmed that they are laundry balls, not candies.
AUDIO - Well, that's nice.
I guess that's nice, but I'm sure soon after ingesting them you realize something is wrong when you burp out soap bubbles.
Whatever happened to the good old bays of campaign bumper stickers that read, "I'm too stupid to vote?" Maybe they should chew on that for a while.
AUDIO - That's a great idea!
I know it is.
Smoking Strange Stuff
And lastly in Weird News, an Iranian man who received global attention for his lack of bathing for more than 60 years and was dubbed the world's dirtiest man has died at the age of 94.
He was a homeless man who spent his entire life without bathing or showering since around 1955.
He chose not to because he believed soap would make him sick.
He may have been right, because just a few months before he died, the locals finally convinced him to go into the bathroom and wash himself.
In addition to his lack of bathing, he also survived on a diet of roadkill, dirty water, and even smoked dried animal feces in a pipe.
AUDIO - Holy s**t!
Here is the perfect example of when not to listen to the people. He should have listened to his gut and just continued on as the world's dirtiest man. He could have made it to the Guinness Book of World Records with the strongest immune system. He could still be alive today eating dirty roadkill and smoking animal feces.
And that's DHA's Weird News.
