If you've ever wondered just why we might need auto tune in the recording studio. this week's episode of Weird News includes some REALLY bad singing, along with a REALLY stupid criminal.

ANNOUNCER - Time now for WDHA's Weird News with Michael Fuzzy Lee.

FUZZY - Today in Weird News, a Hungarian Mangalica pig, known for her long curly hair, lives at the Eastern Snouts Pig Adoption Center and was being driven along with another pig to the vet for a checkup.

While on the entrance ramp to I-76 in Pennsylvania, a pig named Dorothy managed to slip out of the trailer and made a run for it on a busy highway.

Luckily, state troopers jumped into action to help and got Dorothy back into the trailer.

Other than a little road rash, she is doing just fine.

Why We Might Need Auto Tune

SINGING (?) - Who's that pig that's in the truck?  Mangalica, that really sucks.  Catch her now, your stupid schmuck.

Psycho pig!  She wears a wig.

She turned the highway to a barnyard, called police, they're on guard, hit her on the head really hard,

Psycho pig.  She wears a wig.

Get her to the vet immediately, better do so obediently.  A holy sh**, she's hideously.

Psycho pig.  She wears a wig.

And lastly in Weird News, a 29-year-old British man walked into a shop dressed with a yellow plastic bag over his head and demanded cash and cigarettes.

He told the woman, quote, You know what I'm going to do if you don't, end quote.

The woman who was unshaken, called him, quote, stupid, end quote, and then pointed out there were security cameras all over the place.

He then bolted out of the shop.

Later the police announced, quote, we caught stupid, end quote, stealing chicken at a local supermarket.
A judge, who later charged him for, quote, being stupid, end quote, then gave him two years in jail.

Stupid!

I really don't have anything to say other than he's stupid, the story is stupid, and my singing is probably stupid too.

And that's DHA's Weird News.

Jersey’s Top 5 Rocking Rush Songs

As Geddy Lee celebrated a birthday yesterday I wanted to take a look at Jersey’s Top 5 Rocking Rush Songs.  I love asking listeners to pick their favorites from bands and yesterday was no different.  So how about we take a look at the results?

Each weekday at 4 pm I post a question of the day to the WDHA Facebook page. I ask listeners to pick their favorite bands or songs to answer the question.  Then, based on all the responses I put together a block of songs just in time for the ride home from work at 5 pm with First Call Last Call.  The responses are always a lot of fun to read and it’s always interesting to see the answers from the listeners' perspectives.

So, yesterday was the legend Geddy Lee’s 71st birthday and I wanted to know what songs from RUSH our Jersey family loves.  I got some great responses.  The songs were all over the map of the RUSH discography.  There were certainly answers I knew I would get like “Tom Sawyer” or “Red Barchetta”, but some were off the beaten path which is always fun.

RUSH went through a lot of different sounds.  Sometimes a little more progressive than others, they always rocked.  Of course, the 80s brought lots of synths, but it still sounded like RUSH…..at least to me.

They closed out the end of their catalog with some hard-rocking albums that showcased their unbelievable musicianship and intriguing lyrical content.  Whether you like listening to live cuts, deep cuts, or just the big standard hits from the studio recordings, there are RUSH songs to satisfy almost anyone!

I for one fell in love with RUSH because I’m a drummer and Neil Peart was one of the greatest to ever touch the instrument.  He is sorely missed, but the music lives on.

So here’s Jersey’s Top 5 Rocking Rush Songs!

RED SECTOR A

There sounds like panic as this song starts. It's ominous and brooding and they keys lend to the feel of the lyrics. It's a unique sounding song, that few other bands could pull off!

TIME STAND STILL

I always thought this song was beautiful.  Aimee Mann lending her vocals really takes this song in a different direction.  Contemplative, optimistic and just cool!

LIMELIGHT

This song holds a special place in my heart.  After taking a break from drums and not picking up sticks for a while.  I was listening to this piece and realized that Neil Peart's part sounds like a whole other voice in the song.  It's tremendous and it got me back into drumming.

SUBDIVISIONS

A great live song (as most of them are), this one from Signals is really cool.  Especially just to hear the "SUBDIVISIONS" title spoken.  It's almost like you can't help but say it along.

ANIMATE

It's kind of closer to the hard rock scene for RUSH.  they came out of the gate swinging on this album opener.  It's got some great lyrics and really gets the blood going!
