We just got One More Time from Blink-182, but it's already time for new Blink-182 music. The album that's coming out is simply called One More Time-Part 2. It seems strange that we would get music so quickly after that album's release. However, I’m pumped!
Blink-182’s reunion album with Tom Delonge back in the band did not disappoint. “One More Time” has it all. Emotional and introspective lyrics. Some powerful ballads. But of course, some energetic and anthemic fueled up rockers as well. It was put together really nicely and sounded great having Tom back in the band.
I rated it as one of my top albums of the year. Oh, I should also point out that with Travis Barker on the drums we also got some insane beats and even one thing that was a first – On the song “More Than You Know” Barker uses double bass drumming in the chorus. His first ever recorded double bass part! It was exciting to hear and gave the song such a unique feel.
Now we have “One More Time – Part 2.” It comes out digitally on September 6th. It’s got 8 new tracks!! Plus 2 others that were released on the streaming version of the last album. If you’re more into collecting physical media then you’ll have to wait until December 31st to get the vinyl through Blink’s website. It’s a one-LP set. Or there will be a 2-LP version that will pair together both albums.
If you just can’t wait to hear what these songs are going to sound like, don’t worry! We get our first taste – with the song All In My Head out Friday. I am hoping these songs all have the feel of “One More Time”, the album, not the song. Just experimental, in your face, loud and raw. Blink does that so well all while being able to bundle it up into a nice under 3-minute pop-punk tune.
I’ve been a fan of this band for a while, but having Tom, Mark, and Travis together is really taking the newer music to a whole new level!
Here's my favorite song from the last record!
Blink-182 Reunites with Tom DeLonge, Fans Are Feeling This
Blink-182 has made it official: Tom DeLonge is back, new music is on the way and they're hitting the road for a massive tour.
The trio announced the news via the video below in which they confirmed: "They're coming." (Get it?) Oh, and a new studio album is also coming with the first single, "Edging," due out this Friday, October 14 and is available for pre-save/pre-add here. (Call it a hunch, but I don't think the song is about lawn maintenance.)
As for their tour, tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, October 17 at 10 AM local time. In addition to their own headlining reunion tour, blink-182 will be hitting up a number of festivals including Lollapalooza in Argentina and Brazil and 2023's When We Were Young. A full list of tour dates is below.
As expected, the loyal blink fanbase collectively lost their minds when all of this news is confirmed. You can see their joy in all its glory in the tweets below.
