Linkin Park to Release FROM ZERO in November
Linkin Park will release their first album since 2017, FROM ZERO, on Nov. 15, which they are dubbing the start of a "new era" for the band. The album is available for pre-order/pre-save via Warner Records.
In more big news, Linkin Park has a new singer in the fold, Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara, and drummer, Colin Brittain. The rest of the lineup consists of longtime Linkin Park members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix and Joe Hahn.
In advance of the album, Linkin Park has also released their first new song in seven years, "The Emptiness Machine," which you can listen to here and below. They made the announcement via a livestream performance on their social accounts.
Regarding the new era of Linkin Park, Shinoda said in a statement, “Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”
Shinoda also talked about the new lineup, stating, "The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created. We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we’ve made together. We’re weaving together the sonic touchpoints we’ve been known for and still exploring new ones."
As for live shows, so far, the band has only announced a handful of tour dates. Those are Sept. 11 in Los Angeles, Sept. 16 in New York City, Sept. 22 in Germany, Sept. 24 in the U.K., Sept. 28 in South Korea and Nov. 11 in Columbia.
Founding Linkin Park member and vocalist Chester Bennington tragically took his own life on July 20, 2017, at the age of 41. The only concert the band has played since Bennington's death was a tribute show in the fall of 2017, so the upcoming shows mark Linkin Park's first concerts in roughly seven years.
