Daniel Jones and Aaron Rodgers Are In Very Similar Situations
The Giants and Jets kick off their seasons this weekend and for both teams, and their respective quarterbacks, Daniel Jones Aaron Rodgers, are in very similar situations.
Both are coming off serious injuries, and the fate of their respective teams largely rests on their shoulders.
Depending upon how you look at that, it’s either good news or bad news.
Giants – Daniel Jones
Daniel Jones has been the subject of recent rumors about whether or not he’s dating sports media personality Kay Adams.
Which for Jones is probably a good distraction from the reality of his situation – he had a sub-par 2023 season and is coming back from ACL surgery.
His preseason numbers (playing in just one of the three games) included completing 13 of 18 passes. The problem was that two of those completions were wearing the other team’s uniform.
The Giants are in a very tough division, and anything less than a top performance from Jones will see them out of playoff contention with still a third of the season to play.
The Giants host the Saints this Sunday.
Jets – Aaron Rodgers
As far as the Jets are concerned, the biggest word in the English language applies right now heading into Monday night’s contest with the 49ers in San Francisco.
“If.”
As in “If Aaron Rodgers stays healthy….”
With a healthy Rodgers? The Jets are a playoff team, and could very well win the AFC East.
Without a healthy Rodgers? They could very well finish last in the division.
