12 Of The Notoriously Nicest Artists In Rock
Nicest Rockers - TC Has The Scoop!
Who is nicest? As you know, I have been in the rock world for a long time! I have seen it all.
Let me begin by saying that we LOVE our rockers- They have all been spectacular- (well, maybe I have one or two stories saved for my book!) But certain people in the business just GET IT. They know how to treat fans, radio, and those who work with them. They can't do enough to connect, always go the extra, extra mile, and are so gracious and humble with their time and talents. ABOVE and BEYOND. That is this list. Kindness is authentic. It cannot be faked.
The main elements that helped determine my list of mega-talented musicians who give a ---t?
Who stays and signs for fans? Who appreciates the rock community we all have built together? Who is the first to step out to help charities if needed? Who walks the walk? (and doesn't just talk?) All are included on this list. I look forward to seeing, connecting with, and watching every rocker on this list not only perform but interact with their fans.
Check out a few of my "Nicest Rockers" On Reconnect With Rockers in the Video links below
And The Full Reconnect With Rockers Series Here
And thanks to all of the rockers on my list for your talents and generosity. Our rock family wouldn't be the same without you!

1. Rob Halford

The Metal God is notoriously nice and always a pleasure to interview, see in person and watch interact with fans. Every time I see Rob he always remembers WDHA, says "TUR-REAH" in his amazing voice and English accent and has been an undemanding pleasure to have at WDHA over the years. I first met Rob in person in 1990 AND I have to say, I have hosted multiple nationally syndicated Priest radio specials (which is non traditional for women I am sad to say) and Rob has always been so supportive of me as a host. Thank You Metal God. I love you.
2. Lajon Witherspoon

"LJ" as he is known, is a wonderful guy. Always with an open heart, so giving, friendly and humble. Know to fans and the industry and "one of the good guys", I know that anytime the mighty Sevendust is involved, the interaction with Lajon is always a huge part of the experience. Fans as family. That's how it goes with this awesome frontman.
3. Myles Kennedy

Myles is one of rock music's biggest talents AND a true gentleman. It's hard to believe that I met Myles 20 years ago when AB released "One Day Remains" and I have never seen him in a bad mood! He is always such a pleasure to work with and is one of the warmest, kindest musicians. Myles gives 1000 percent to his craft, the fans and those he has met along the way. What a guy.
4. Lzzy Hale

Lzzy rules. Plain and simple. She never forgets a face, never "doesn't have time for us", she is grateful for her success and you can feel that in everything she does. Will she help with charity? You bet. Will she take time with a fan that needs it? I have witnessed this on multiple occasions. I adore her for so many reasons. Her "Lzzy Bird" fanbase is proof of her dedication to her audience. Lzzy is one of the purest people I've ever met.
5. Slash

Slash is interesting, because he's a quiet icon, but when you are doing anything with him, there is no one who will give you more. He makes every interview easy, always finds time and is so genuine and real. His bigger that life persona fades away instantly when you speak with him. He has always been so kind since I first met him in 1990 and I always enjoy anything we do with him and his camp. He even let me "borrow" his bodyguard one night in a crowded room- GENTLEMAN!
6. Brent Smith

Brent Smith never forgets the early Shinedown days and those fans that were on board for the band from the beginning. "What can we do for you?" Is very prominent in his vocabulary. It has been incredible to see the band move from their first WDHA appearance at a BBQ restaurant in the early 2000's to headlining Prudential Center last year and Brent is the same guy who did both. He is also someone who is the first to help me with a charity initiative and his generosity is so appreciated.
7. Mark Tremonti

Mark Tremonti is simply a great person. Beyond his astronomical talent as a guitar player, vocalist and songwriter, Mark is such a kind, caring person who makes the world a better place. Mark's "Take A Chance On Charity" initiative has inspired so many and his work for the "National Down Syndrome Society" (inspired by his beautiful daughter Stella) is changing lives everyday. I adore Mark. He is always positive, inspiring and wonderful to be around.
8. Theory Of A Deadman

I LOVE my Theory friends! Tyler, Dave, Dean and Joey are SOOOOO much fun and great people. Hanging with them is amazing, they are always laughing and never forget fans and things we have done in the past. It's like seeing favorite family members every time we get together. They have been CHAMPIONS of helping my Rock N' Ruff program, spending time with me at shelters and raising close to 10k for Eleventh Hour Rescue because they remembered the shelter from WDHA. AMAZING!
9. Tom Keifer

Tom is good people. No bells and whistles. One of the most genuine guys I have ever met. I have known Tom since (GULP) the 1980's. He has always been so down to earth, generous and kind to the fans and one of the best people to discuss The Stones with! Salt of the earth. Your best friend. And his wife Savannah is a DOLL!
10. Chris Jerico

Chris Jericho is a superstar WITHOUT a superstar attitude. Chris gets it and has worked SO HARD for rockstar status, (It is never lost on him.) Chris understands the radio community, and is the BEST interview, always making time, and has a deep appreciation for the Fozzy fans. I've had Chris in studio and he can't do enough for the station or our listeners. He's beyond awesome.
11. Caleb Shomo

Caleb from Beartooth is a new breed of frontman and could not be nicer to his fans and the rock world. Caleb once told us that the community of the rock world is one that he wants to be a part of, and his work to gain the fans trust and loyalty has not gone unnoticed. He played our "Rock The Rock Fest" show (after attending as an audience member the year before!) and is a legend onstage in the making. Sweetest guy. Amazing performer.
12. Chris Daughtry

Chris Daughtry is epic. Bottom line. He cares. About the fans, about people. He just cares. Chris re-entered the rock world and is one of the hardest working artists for the fans. He is gracious in doing charity work for American Foundation For Suicide Prevention and other charities. He makes time for everyone. Always with a calm energy and open heart.
13. BONUS ROCKER- Billy Gibbons

The GOAT!!! Billy F Gibbons! Doesn't have to do interviews, but he does. Billy is gentle, soft spoken and kind. And when I grabbed his magic beard mid interview he replied - "No Problem.....People Do It All the Time"
