At MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Oasis singer Liam Gallagher paid tribute to the Minneapolis church shooting victims. On August 27, a shooter struck the Church of the Annunciation in Minneapolis. Two kids died, and 18 others were hurt. The shooter struck during a service at Annunciation Catholic School. He fired over one hundred shots before ending his own life. A search turned up weapons marked with past killers' names and hate-filled messages against Jewish people, and he planned the attack by attending services to examine entry points.

According to The New York Post, on September 1, a packed stadium fell silent as Liam said, "I want to dedicate this next tune to the kiddies of Minneapolis — Live Forever." The attack claimed eight-year-old Fletcher Merkel and a ten-year-old girl. "Fletcher loved his family, friends, fishing, cooking and any sports that he was allowed to play," Fletcher's father, Jessie Merkel, said, according to NBC News. "While the hole in our hearts and lives will never be filled, I hope that in time, our family can find healing."

The New Jersey show marked a key stop on the band's comeback tour, which started on July 4 in the UK. MetLife and the rest of the United States hadn't seen Oasis perform since 2008.

During the encore, Noel Gallagher spotted first-timers in the crowd. According to The New York Post, he called out, "You might've wondered what it might be like to sing this next song with 60, 70,000 of your fellow Oasis fans. Well, you're going to find out what that feeling is like.” After wrapping up in Pasadena on September 7, the band heads south to Mexico. Shows in Japan, Australia, and Brazil follow, with São Paulo hosting the final night on November 23.
