Newark kids will soon fill their bags with treats when Mars hosts two free Halloween events. The M&M'S Halloween in Newark program returns this Oct. 18 and 19, 2025, marking its second decade of community celebrations.

Kids can snag goodie bags stuffed with Mars Wrigley sweets at both spots from noon to 5 p.m. The first day lights up Boylan Recreation Center, while JFK Recreation Center hosts day two of the spooky fun.

Each child gets a costume kit that works for any size. These free events aim to spread Halloween cheer across Newark's neighborhoods. Staff will hand out candy and run activities that won't cost families a penny.

This year brings a thoughtful addition. A special quiet space welcomes guests who need a break from the excitement, making sure everyone can join the fun at their own pace.

Since its start in 2015, this sweet tradition has brought smiles to countless Newark faces. What began as a simple candy giveaway has turned into an autumn highlight that brings neighbors together year after year.

Want to join? Head to Boylan Recreation Center at 916 South Orange Ave. on Saturday. Can't make it? Catch day two at JFK Recreation Center, 211 West Kinney St., on Sunday.

The fun runs from noon to 5 p.m. both days. Just show up: no tickets needed for this neighborhood party.
