Jimmy John's will open at 125-137 Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights. This marks the sandwich chain's comeback to Bergen County after earlier stores shuttered.

The company tried twice before in 2014 and 2015, launching spots in Lodi and Ramsey. Neither shop made it.

Jimmy John Liautaud launched the chain in 1983 when he was just 19 years old. Every shop bakes bread on-site and slices meats plus vegetables fresh throughout the day.

A Dunkin' Donuts will share the building. When doors will open remains unknown.

The Hasbrouck Heights site sits right on Route 17, which funnels traffic through Bergen County from surrounding communities.

Bergen County has watched many chain restaurants attempt to plant roots in recent years, with some thriving and others disappearing after brief stints.

The company hasn't shared hiring plans or when construction might wrap up. Details about who owns the franchise weren't released.

Something else operated at 125-137 Route 17 before, though what businesses sat there previously wasn't disclosed. Drivers can spot it from the highway, and parking is available.

More information about the opening can be found on the company's website at jimmyjohns.com.
