Boot Barn locked down a lease for a 15,000-square-foot store in Edison. The Western apparel chain keeps pushing into New Jersey. Eight locations dot the state now, with three more slated to open by 2025's close.

RIPCO Real Estate, based in Elmwood Park, announced the Edison deal. They broker for the chain in North and Central Jersey, working alongside Boot Barn's master broker, CBRE. When does the Edison store open? Where exactly will it sit? Those details remain unclear.

Two locations will launch at Totowa Commons in Totowa and Hudson Commons in Jersey City before Dec. 31 hits. A Somerset Shopping Center store in Bridgewater just opened its doors.

California birthed this retailer 47 years back. It's grown into a top seller of Western and work-related footwear, apparel, and accessories for men, women, and kids. Texas and the Western states were its only stomping grounds during the early decades.

The company went public in 2014, then set out to become a national brand, as Modern Retail reported. From 86 locations scattered across eight states, it ballooned to over 460 stores in 45 states.

By 2030, the chain wants 900 stores. Shopping centers in smaller cities and towns outside big metros are the target. The brand also wants to serve everyone — from lifestyle shoppers to trade workers.

"Boot Barn's latest commitments in Totowa, Bridgewater, and Jersey City, along with the newly signed lease in Edison, are a clear sign of the brand's strong momentum in New Jersey," said RIPCO Executive Vice President Mike Horne, per Real Estate-NJ. "Their expansion is driven by a growing demand for quality Western and workwear across both suburban and urban markets."

New Jersey got its first Boot Barn three years ago — Millville and Cherry Hill were the entry points. RIPCO handled deals for three spots: Flanders, West Long Branch, and Paramus.

In Totowa, an 18,221-square-foot store moves into what Marshalls left behind. Jersey City's location spans 12,000 square feet, taking over Kid City's old digs.

RIPCO and the retailer hunt for more spaces between 10,000 and 15,000 square feet to keep building the brand's footprint in the state.
