The New York Cosmos made an announcement Thursday. All high school students in Paterson can get free match tickets to home games at Hinchliffe Stadium at no cost.

The program removes financial barriers that might keep local students from watching professional soccer in their own city, giving them a chance to see top-tier athletes compete without having to worry about whether they can afford admission.

Students claim tickets through the official ticketing platform or at the stadium box office. A valid Paterson school ID is required. Tickets go out first-come, first-served for each match.

"This initiative is about creating access and opportunity for students in Paterson," said Baye Adofo-Wilson, managing partner of the New York Cosmos, according to News 12. "As someone who was born and raised in Paterson, I know how important it is for kids to be inspired in their own community."

Hinchliffe Stadium serves as the home pitch. The venue is a renovated landmark rooted in Paterson's history.

Paterson Superintendent of Schools Dr. Laurie W. Newell praised the partnership, saying it gives students something new to experience while building pride in their community.

"This opportunity gives our students a chance to experience something new and take pride in their community right here in Paterson," Newell said.

The program is part of a bigger commitment by the club to invest in the Silk City. Building a local supporter base matters. By inviting students to represent their schools at matches, the Cosmos hope to create a lively matchday atmosphere at one of the most storied venues in American sports — a place where history happened and where new memories can take root.

Paterson high school students can start claiming their free tickets right away. Upcoming home matches are waiting.
