WHY I'M WALKING:
The year I discovered AFSP was the year i lost someone who had a big impact on my life to suicide.
The year I discovered AFSP was the year i lost someone who had a big impact on my life to suicide.
It was shocking and had a huge effect on me as there were no signs, no warnings, no preparation.
Meeting with the team from AFSP inspired me to get involved and when I did the feedback that I received for our WDHA listeners was not what I expected. I never realized how many people are affected by suicide. Families losing members, Individuals struggling, Friends needing to help friends, People reaching out to each other. Our listeners were an incentive for me as well. So many opening my eyes and sharing their stories with me. The walks are inspiring, emotional and life changing. I am honored to be a part of the change that the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention is accomplishing with their mission to shed light on mental health and suicide prevention.
I am joining hundreds of thousands of people across the country who are walking in the Out of the Darkness Community Walks to prevent suicide and support AFSP's mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.
