New Jersey’s first B.Y.O.C. (Bring Your Own Cannabis) convention is back. Started in 2022 after cannabis was legalized and finally made accessible on a recreational level, the 420 Expo is a celebration of all things green and dank. This year, taking place between September 29th and October 1st at the New Jersey Convention & Exposition Center in Edison, there will be over 100 vendors, as well as a number of other reasons to hang out with some buds.
The convention offers a handful of live music performances, stage acts, and interactive events like a joint rolling contest and a gameshow where the goal is to weed out the comedian that did not partake in the devil’s lettuce. On top of the on-site entertainment, the 420 Expo also offers several after parties throughout the weekend, with VIP pass holders gaining free access and only a minimal price for GA pass holders.
Outside of the entertainment, and quite literally outside of the Convention & Exposition Center, the 420 Expo works around the “no smoking and vaping” rules everyone else has and created an outdoor smoking section. In the smoking session, there are plenty of tents, tables, and rolling supplies to make your “Thanksgiving walk” as comfortable and easy as possible. And after you’ve utilized the smoking section’s main purpose, you can check out the food trucks that are conveniently placed in the area ready to fight your munchies.
It wouldn’t be a convention if there weren’t any special guests, so the 420 Expo has called upon some of the best cannabis-friendly celebrities. Included on this list are WWE’s Matt Riddle, Brian O’Halloran from Clerks, and both Danny Provenzano and Vincent Pastor from Baking Bad.
** WDHA strongly encourages any who choose to consume cannabis and/or alcohol to find an alternative way to this event such as a taxi, rideshare, public transportation, or at least having a designated driver for your group. Those under the influence of cannabis and alcohol should never operate any motor vehicles under any circumstances. Please be safe and responsible. **
