Listen to Terrie Carr all from 10am to 3pm for a chance to win tickets to see HARDY at the PNC Bank Arts Center on Thursday, June 20th!

Michael Wilson Hardy, best known as HARDY, was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi in 1990. While growing up, he wrote his first song to impress a girl in high school, which lead to him pursuing a songwriting degree at Middle Tennessee State University. With his already present love for music, he took a trip to visit his sister in Nashville that led to him realizing that he could turn his passion for music into a career.

Prior to starting his career as a musician, he started off as a songwriter for artists like Florida Georgia Line and Morgan Wallen, including Wallen’s “Up Down” which, as of November 2023, is certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA and hit number 1 on Billboard US’s Country Airplay and Billboard Canada’s Country charts.

In October of 2018 he released his first EP as an artist titled This Ole Boy, quickly followed in 2019 by the certified Platinum single “Rednecker”, a second EP called Where to Find Me, and Hixtape, Vol. 1 an album that features 17 other artists including Thomas Rhett, Keith Urban, and Zakk Wylde.

In September of 2020 Hardy released his debut album called A Rock which would go on to be certified Gold and has the track “One Beer”, his most successful track to date being certified triple Platinum by the RIAA. In 2021 he released Hixtape, Vol. 2, which featured acts like Matt Stell, Colt Ford, and Lainey Wilson.

In January 2023, he released his genre-bending second album The Mockingbird & the Crow, which featured a half-country, half rock and hard-rock style and featured country artists Morgan Wallen and Lainey Wilson, as well as A Day To Remember’s Jeremy McKinnon. Hixtape, Vol. 3: Difftape is set to be released on March 29th, 2024 and features tributes to the late Joe Diffie, including the singles “Pick-Up Man” featuring Post Malone and “John Deere Green” featuring Morgan Wallen.

While releasing his music he has toured with artists like Morgan Wallen, Florida Georgia Line, and Jason Aldean. He’s also been featured on tracks from Dallas Smith, Dierks Bentley, and Beartooth, and wrote songs for Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett, and Chris Lane.
